Biometrix Conference

jupiter | 27.07.2004 10:12 | Technology | Cambridge | London

The biometrics conference in London in October seems like a perfect opportunity to make people more aware of the dangers of biometric ID cards in Britain.

Britain's plans to collect and record our biometric data is an infringement on our civil liberties, will make our society even more xenophobic and will not make us any safer. On top of all that it will cost taxpayers billions of pounds. Once the data is recorded, it may be stolen or used to frame individuals. National biometric ID cards will give the government closer access to our every day lives and will secure immense revenue for private IT firms. Let's not get pushed over by Blair once again!

This October, there is a biometrics exhibition in London. What a great opportunity to show them what we think about this idea!
