Boris Lidovski Must Stay - campaign public meeting

Alex Wood Hall, Norfolk Street, Cambridge

Cambridge postal worker Boris Lidovski is threatened with deportation
to Russia despite real fears for his safety if he returns. Boris fled
Russia in 1997 after being threatened at gunpoint by organised
criminals. He is now firmly settled in Cambridge, having worked at
Cambridge Mail Centre since 1998. He has bought a house and has a
partner whose son calls him "Dad". However the Home Office has
recently rejected his final appeal against the refusal of his asylum
application. Boris' branch of the Communication Workers' Union and
other supporters have formed the Boris Lidowski Must Stay campaign,
calling on the Home Office to grant Boris discretionary leave to
remain in the UK.

Speakers: Billy Hayes, General Secretary of Communication Workers'
Union; Ruth Bagnell, Chair of East of England Asylum and Refugees
Integration Panel; other speakers to be confirmed.
