Is this really a peace demo or just more pro Israeli shit ?

The answer is that yes it really is a peace demo.

Worry not, the jewish peace group are yer "self hating jews"(*), and as for Campeace, we are a bunch of proud loony lefties. Campeace was originally formed to campaign against NATO's bombing campaign in Kosovo.

Some of the people who took part in the demo were in Palestine with the International Solidarity Movement.

Some of them were in London on Mayday

(*) I meant that in an ironic way before anyone accuses me of being antisemitic.

Campeace were denounced, back in the autumn during the afghan thing, by our local MP Anne Campbell as having no credibility with her. Anne Campbell has been known to suck Tony Blair's bottom and she doesn't really have time for a bunch of Chomsky reading loonies like us(**).


(**) I say "us" but I'm not that involved, i've just been to a few meetings. But I do feel qualified to say that this was definitely not a zionist "peace" protest as you suggest.

I've been to about 3 campeace meetings in 3 years and I'm on their email list. I know about them but obviously my views are not necessarily their views.

And if Mrs is reading this, then I meant the thing about Tony Blair in a jokey way.

It is not official campeace policy to accuse Anne Campbell of sucking Tony Blair's bottom or anyone else's bottom regardless of where their first name is Tony or not.

Ummm . . . I don't know who originally posted this, but the demo was organised by Cambridge Palestinian Society, Students against the War (CamSAW), Women in Black, and Anti-Capitalist Action (ACA).

by the way, "self-hating jews" was an ironic reference to the fact that jewish people who criticise the Israeli government and military often get called... "self hating jews".

And yeah, I didn't think it was CamPeace who organised the demo. It's like the SWP and Globalise Resistance hijacking everyone else's protests. But let's not get into that kind of tit for tat bickering - we need SOLIDARITY within the movement.

And CamPeace are a good organisation :-)
