Nuclear Accident Southern France

Accident at nuclear plant southern France near Avignon&the city of Nimes,50 miles north west of Marseilles&100miles NW of Cannes, westerly wind at this time of year will likely be taking any pollution into the mainland. Nuclear monitoring groups in the region report test levels of radiation 10 times above normal.

10x is equivalent to a CT scan, but exposure to this level for a long length of time is carcinogenic& wether this has gone up or down since is unkown. The area where the explosion happened carbonising one worker & injuring others was near a reactor too hot to appoach at the time, but the power company says the reactor was not breached.
Vlittle on UK news, except the Gaurdian. The Sarkozy government have increased nuclear investment after Fuksishama & apperently not done full reports on plants in the Avignon region which is prone to earthquakes since the Fukishama nuclear disaster.
Best for people in the region to stay in as much as possible, especially pregnant women,if you know anyone near Nimes I would advice them to look into the situation much more & get a packet of Iiodine tablets.
